We are currently seeking passionate and skilled Maths GCSE Tutors to provide personalised home tuition for learners in Birmingham who require additional academic support.
The Role
We are looking for experienced and motivated tutors to deliver one-to-one GCSE Maths tuition to students who need targeted intervention to boost attainment, confidence, and exam readiness. You will work with pupils who may be:
- Preparing for their GCSE exams
- Working below age-related expectations
- Requiring additional support to close learning gaps
- Educated at home or accessing alternative provision
Sessions will take place within the family home or an agreed local setting. The role requires availability Monday–Friday, with a minimum of 2 hours per day per student. Additional hours are available & encouraged for tutors seeking a fuller timetable.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, one-to-one GCSE Maths tuition.
- Plan and deliver structured lessons aligned to the GCSE curriculum and exam board specifications.
- Identify gaps in knowledge and implement targeted intervention strategies.
- Support students with exam techniques, revision skills, and confidence building.
- Adapt teaching approaches to suit individual learning styles and abilities.
- Track and monitor progress, providing regular feedback to parents and relevant professionals.
- Create a positive, motivating, and supportive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience teaching GCSE Maths (QTS preferred but strong unqualified tutors with proven GCSE experience will be considered).
- A strong understanding of the GCSE curriculum and current exam requirements.
- Experience supporting students on a one-to-one basis.
- The ability to engage, motivate, and build positive relationships with learners.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A patient, adaptable, and encouraging teaching style.
- The ability to travel within Birmingham (driving preferred but not essential).
