Our client is seeking a Technical Estimator to produce accurate, compliant cost estimates and proposals for smoke ventilation and AOV systems. The role involves interpreting fire strategies and project requirements to develop compliant, commercially competitive solutions that support tender submissions and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for smoke ventilation and AOV systems, including natural, mechanical, and pressurisation solutions.
  • Interpret tender documents, fire strategies, specifications, and drawings.
  • Develop cost plans, take-offs, and pricing schedules aligned with project specifications and performance criteria.
  • Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to obtain quotations, technical data, and lead times.
  • Ensure product compliance with EN12101 standards.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities.
  • Support tender submissions and respond to client queries.
  • Maintain clear and auditable estimating records.

Requirements Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree, HND or HNC in Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, Fire Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in estimating, pre-construction, or technical sales support within the construction or building services sector.
  • Knowledge of smoke ventilation and AOV systems.
  • Working knowledge of Approved Document B (ADB), BS 9991, BS 9999, BS 7346-7, and Smoke Control Association (SCA) guidance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, estimating software, and CAD packages.
