ROLE PURPOSE
This position will perform cleaning related tasks necessary to ensure that residents' rooms are safe, clean and that common areas are as attractive and clean as possible. Perform a variety of duties in relation to the preparation and distribution of meals and the cleaning of dining room areas to the required standard.

Union. This position is open to applicants of all genders.

Full Time- Candidates 35 Hours/Week Rotation: Thursday- Monday 10:00- 18:30

REPORTING AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports and is accountable to the Bedford Manor Program Manager or their designate
- Function as a multi‑disciplinary team member
- Establish and maintain good interpersonal relations with residents, staff, visitors and volunteers, by displaying tact, courtesy and patience
- Respect and maintain the spirit, dignity and individuality of residents and their families
- Liaises with the staff and managers of Connective as necessary
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- General cleaning tasks including: Dusting, washing floors, washing windows
- Participate in the preparation and assembly of meals by performing simple tasks such as making toast, preparing beverages, etc.
- Check and collect laundry from residents, and from Bedford Manor
- Perform all duties in relation to the distribution of food
- Ensure food is served in accordance with the dietary requirements of the residents
- Collect garbage
- Move furniture as required to clean
- Transport and move supplies and equipment
- Assist in the dining room and laundry room as required
- Utilize cleaning supplies and products in accordance with established procedures
- Responsible for bringing up supplies from storerooms – making sure carts and supply areas are stocked
- Ensure cleaning equipment and supplies are stored in a safe and efficient manner
- Report any situations that may be considered unsafe or a health risk
- Attend staff in‑service and continuing education programs, and approved work‑related conferences and seminars
- Perform other related duties as required
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Function independently, while remaining a crucial member of the support team
- Carry out significant amounts of lifting, bending, stooping and stretching
- Work within a social model approach
- Handle confidential/sensitive material with integrity and discretion
- Adhere to Connective’s policies and procedures
- Be available to work flexible hours during the daytime, evenings, and weekends based on operational needs and requirements

- Proof of vaccination for communicable diseases may be required as mandated by Government, Health Authority, and/or funder requirements.
Compensation
The wage range for this position is $21.72 to $24.87 per hour as per collective agreement. Important: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada, observe their weekly hours limit if under a temporary or study visa, and provide proof of eligibility if selected for the role.
