Product Developer & Buyer in Manchester

About the Company

We are supporting a Manchester based supplier that works with major UK retailers. They are looking for a Product Developer & Buyer to help create and deliver new lighting and homeware ranges. This suits someone at junior to mid level who wants to develop their skills in buying, sourcing and product development.

Responsibilities

• Support product development for lighting and homeware from concept through to customer presentation
• Help prepare product briefs, quotes and follow up on samples and approvals
• Work with design teams to brief new ideas and track progress
• Carry out market research and competitor reviews
• Build trend packs, mood boards and range direction documents
• Support customer meetings and help prepare presentations
• Liaise with suppliers across the Far East, Asia and India
• Maintain development logs, sample lists and pricing files
• Review costs and margins to support commercial decision making
• Monitor product performance and customer feedback

Qualifications

Experience in homeware, textiles, lighting or similar product areas is a strong advantage.

Required Skills

• Background in buying, sourcing, product development or design is helpful
• Confident working with suppliers overseas
• Strong admin skills with good Excel and PowerPoint ability
• Good communicator with an interest in trends and product detail
• Able to manage several tasks at pace with strong attention to detail
