We’re looking for a motivated and detail-focused accountant with at least 3 years’ experience in practice. You’ll get hands-on responsibility for a range of accounts, tax and VAT work, with support and mentoring from experienced team members. This is a great opportunity to broaden your skills and progress within a growing practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Producing management accounts, working papers and reconciliations
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns in line with MTD requirements
- Assisting with personal tax returns and corporation tax computations
- Supporting tax planning activities when required
- Maintaining organised records and documentation
- Assisting with general practice administrative tasks as needed
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accountancy practice
- Strong numerical and IT skills (Excel, Word, email)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage a varied workload
- Proactive, reliable and eager to develop further professionally
Desirable
- Knowledge of accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
- Studying or planning to study ACCA or ACA
