ConnectionHub exists to advance the education and training of those who have been granted refugee status and asylum seekers and their dependents who need it, to advance them in life and to help them integrate into their host community by providing equipped learning spaces for beneficiaries to participate in formal and non-formal education, covering fees for training, exams, translation and verification of diplomas and certificates from third countries, and providing access to online learning programs and scholarships from our partner institutions.

ConnectionHub operates in the development sector and in the humanitarian field, providing early intervention education and learning opportunities for refugees in urban areas and in camps and reception facilities such as in Lesvos, Greece, with the intention of supporting refugees to meet their learning and integration needs in order to promote independence and social commitment and participation in the labour market. To tackle the challenges of isolation, displacement and migration, we bring together diverse volunteers: professionals, academics, students, graduates and refugees.

We are looking for a Counselling Supervisor to provide a quality specialist counselling supervision service to Counsellors whilst maintaining records provided in a confidential environment. Applicants must demonstrate in their application their ability to meet the key responsibilities, qualifications and experience detailed within the job description.

Position: Counselling Supervisor

Hours: max. 3 hours per month

Location: Remote

Volunteering commitment: 6 months

Responsibilities:

  • To provide a qualified specialist counselling supervision service to our Counsellors.
  • Plan, develop, coordinate and execute an up to date supervisee meeting schedule.
  • To maintain records of supervision sessions within a confidential manner and escalate any concerns.
  • To monitor and make sure Counsellors receive their required supervision hours as stipulated by the awarding body.
  • Ensure the provision of a quality service.
  • Effectively assess and facilitate strategies to meet the needs of the supervisee.
  • Maintain training and continue professional development.

Qualifications Requirements:

  • Level 6 as a minimum qualification in Counselling or related areas.
  • Experienced professional with background in counselling supervision, psychotherapy, psychology or social work.
  • Previous counselling supervision experience both face-to-face and by telephone.
  • Accredited by a recognised body e.g. BACP, UKCP, BPS or equivalent (Desirable).
  • Understanding of the EDEXCEL L5 Diploma in Therapeutic studies course.
  • Excellent observation and listening skills.
  • Essential skills such as patience, tolerance and sensitivity.
  • An understanding of your own attitudes and responses.

DBS Check: All volunteers are required to have a valid enhanced DBS certificate.
