Connection Support provides a range of services supporting people at risk of homelessness or on the edge of needing social care. Volunteers play a key role in delivering vital services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hold group sessions with clients to play games / quizzes.
  • Provide innovative and fun exercises to keep clients engaged and motivated.
  • Act as a positive role model to all clients.

  • Great time‑keeping and organisational skills.
  • High levels of enthusiasm and drive.
  • Ability to create and maintain positive, professional, and trusting relationships with a non‑judgmental approach.

Volunteer Recruitment and Training

Following a show of interest to volunteer as an Activity Coach, the typical process is as follows:

  • Complete a short application form or send a CV outlining relevant experience.
  • Meet with our volunteer recruitment team or speak on the phone to discuss the role.
  • Apply for an enhanced DBS check.
  • Provide two references.
  • Complete four online training modules.

Once your availability is confirmed, you will be matched with clients for a 3‑6 month period, providing weekly sessions of 1‑2 hours in the evenings.

Location: Fishermead supported accommodation, Milton Keynes
