We are currently recruiting a Support Worker to join our team within our short-term accommodation service in Aylesbury.
The impact you will have
Working as part of a team you will support young people (16-25) and adults who are housed in our short-term supported accommodation service to access services and resources that will allow them to move onto sustainable independent accommodation. You will provide support to access housing options, benefits, tenancy related information, paid employment, training, food banks, mental health, substance misuse services, or any other relevant resources that will enable your clients to live independently. You will support with developing life skills such as budgeting, paying bills, shopping and meal planning. You will encourage connecting and building appropriate networks within the local community, and, where possible, re-establish and reconnect with family and friends.
Contract details
- Contract: Permanent, part time.
- Hours: 07.00am – 13.00pm, 4 days on 4 days off. Role includes working weekends, and bank holidays.
- Salary: £27,418 to £28,541 per annum, pro rata, dependent on experience. The salary shown is the full time equivalent.

About You
You will need to have experience of supporting vulnerable adults or young people who are either homeless or at risk with issues such as mental health, substance misuse, or offending. Ideally, you will have a good understanding of the housing and benefits system. You have a strong resilience to not give up and can work creatively to find solutions. You’re an excellent communicator who understands that each person is different, so a flexible individualised approach is what’s needed to motivate and encourage people. Above all, you have a natural ability to help make the lives of others more fulfilling, and are passionate about our mission, vision and values.
