ENGINEERS WANTED FOR CHALLENGING WORK. Small team. Ambitious scope. Infinite edge cases. Long hours debugging production issues of uncertain origin. Constant context-switching between product, infrastructure, and that one customer whose data never quite fits the schema. React TypeScript required — no exceptions. MongoDB queries of alarming complexity. Frontends that must look beautiful on screens ranging from a headteacher’s ancient Dell to a parent’s cracked iPhone SE. Safe delivery dates doubtful.

In the event of success: a product used by real schools, real kids, and real teachers who will send you surprisingly heartfelt emails and sometimes doughnuts. The knowledge that your PRs actually ship. Equity. Apply only if you are comfortable with ambiguity, disagree-and-commit, and the phrase “well it didn’t work on my phone”.

The company is a fast-growing EdTech company on a mission to fix the chaos of school management. Schools are juggling siloed systems that don’t talk to each other – creating duplication, frustration, and wasted time. The company is changing that with one AI-powered platform covering everything from club sign-ups and attendance to parental consent, medical data for trips, and real-time notifications. They started by dominating music department management and are now scaling that approach across schools. Over 260 schools are already on board – and they’re building towards 1,000. The team is close-knit, ambitious, and based in a modern office in Vauxhall.

They’re hiring their second full-stack developer to work directly with an experienced Lead Developer and CPO. You’ll build and evolve areas of the platform at pace, with real ownership from day one. In the first three months, you’ll work closely with schools to drive onboarding and adoption — giving you deep product insight before you transition fully into the development team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product development: Write excellent code, ship fast, and deliver real value to the teachers, parents, and students using the platform.
  • Customer success: In your first three months, drive platform adoption and engagement by working directly with schools. Carry that customer-first mindset into the product team beyond that.
  • Collaboration: Engage fully in product and customer discussions, helping prioritise and balance competing demands across a fast-moving roadmap.
  • Technical support: Resolve issues quickly and effectively, keeping customers happy and the platform performing.

This role is for someone who wants more than a job — someone who wants a stake in what they’re building and won’t stop until it’s great.

The package

  • Up to £90,000 salary
  • A stake in the success of the company through share options
  • Fast-growing company with plenty of room for progression
  • 34 days’ holiday, including bank holidays
  • Uncapped training and development budgets
  • Vibrant team with regular socials, like pool, darts and drinks
  • Team retreats
  • Weekly lunches
  • 6-monthly pay reviews
  • A high-performance team where impatient, ambitious people thrive
  • Regular Mario Kart action!

What we’re looking for…

  • Hands-on experience with React and Node.js
  • Strong TypeScript/JavaScript expertise, with a proven track record in a development role
  • Exceptional problem-solving ability — proven in diagnosing and fixing complex technical issues
  • Strong communication skills — able to build real relationships with customers and translate technical solutions clearly
  • A solid grasp of software development best practices
  • A genuine appetite for learning and adapting in a fast-moving environment

Ideal, but not essential…

  • Experience with MongoDB
  • Experience with AWS-style cloud platform architecture
  • Knowledge of automated testing tools and frameworks
  • Experience using AI tooling to amplify development output
  • A passion for enhancing product user experience

If you’re driven, technically sharp, and want to build something that matters — apply now.
