Are you a commercially driven sales leader who thrives on owning a national number, building high-performing teams, and turning ambition into measurable growth? Ready to step into a leadership role where you won't just inherit a function, but build it and then triple it? This might be the role for you!
The company
Our client is a fast-growing, nationwide tutoring provider, working with schools, Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs), Local Education Authorities (LEAs) and parents across the UK. Alongside specialist SEND and EHCP tutoring for schools and local authorities, they also support families directly, with 1-1 tutoring for exams, catch-up learning and home education. Having built strong foundations, they're now entering an ambitious growth phase, expanding into new regions and channels and investing in the leadership to take them there.
The role
As Head of Sales, you'll take ownership of the entire sales function: new business, existing accounts, the regional Key Account Managers, the Schools BDM, and the operational sales support beneath them. Working closely with the Commercial Director and the wider leadership team, you'll own the revenue number and the sales engine: growing the market, executing the expansion strategy, and driving pipeline, conversion and forecast discipline across new and existing business.
This is a role that combines strategic thinking with hands-on commercial leadership. You'll drive conversions, defend and grow existing accounts, secure new partnerships, and develop a scalable sales function, with genuine progression potential into Senior Leadership over time for the right individual.
Responsibilities include:
- Owning the revenue target, covering both new business and existing account growth
- Developing and executing the sales and market-expansion strategy across regions and channels
- Winning new partnerships with schools, MATs, LEAs and public sector bodies
- Leading and developing the regional Key Account Managers, the Schools BDM and the Junior RCM
- Driving the entire sales cycle: pipeline, conversion, renewal and account growth
- Growing the market by identifying and opening new regions, councils and school accounts ahead of demand
- Executing the expansion strategy (e.g. new geographic regions, schools-direct channel) in partnership with the Commercial Director
- Engaging senior stakeholders, including Headteachers, Trust CEOs, Heads of SEND and Local Authority leaders
- Collaborating with marketing to maximise campaigns and lead generation
- Using data, pipeline reporting and market insight to drive performance and forecast accuracy
- Supporting bids, tenders and procurement opportunities alongside the Commercial Director
