We are recruiting for an exciting Hybrid Speech and Language Therapy Assessment Project in West London, offering experienced clinicians the opportunity to work within a high-volume paediatric assessment service while benefiting from a flexible working model. The Role

The successful clinician will undertake comprehensive Speech and Language Therapy assessments and produce high-quality reports to support clinical recommendations and statutory processes. This is a fast-paced project requiring experienced clinicians who can work autonomously, manage a high-volume caseload, and deliver assessments with minimal supervision.

Essential Experience

  • Substantial post-qualification UK paediatric Speech and Language Therapy experience
  • Independent assessment and clinical decision-making
  • NHS-standard report writing
  • Statutory assessments and EHCP-related work
  • School-based Speech and Language Therapy assessments
  • Managing assessment throughput and waiting-list reduction initiatives
  • Working across both mainstream and specialist educational settings
  • Operating within NHS governance frameworks and service delivery targets

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Speech and Language Therapy
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Significant UK paediatric Speech and Language Therapy experience
  • Experience working autonomously within assessment-focused roles
  • Strong understanding of EHCP processes and statutory reporting requirements
  • Excellent written communication and report-writing skills
  • Ability to work efficiently within a high-volume assessment environment

Highly Desirable

  • Previous Band 6 or Band 7 substantive NHS experience
  • Long-term NHS locum experience delivering paediatric assessments
  • Experience supporting waiting-list reduction and service improvement projects

Important Information

This project requires clinicians who can confidently step into an established assessment service and deliver high-quality assessments with minimal supervision. Applicants whose NHS experience is primarily placement-based, or who have limited post-qualification experience delivering autonomous UK paediatric assessments, are unlikely to meet the requirements of this project.
