We are currently recruiting for a Permanent Occupational Therapist to join a forward-thinking Local Authority Adult Social Care Team in the North of England. This is an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Therapist looking to make a meaningful difference within the community, supporting adults to maintain their independence, safety, and quality of life.

The Role

As an Occupational Therapist within Adult Social Care, you will work with adults across a diverse range of needs, carrying out holistic assessments and delivering person‐centred interventions that promote independence and wellbeing. You will play a key role in supporting individuals to remain safely in their own homes and communities through assessment, rehabilitation, reablement, and the provision of appropriate equipment and adaptations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake comprehensive occupational therapy assessments within community settings
  • Assess functional abilities and identify strategies to maximise independence
  • Recommend and facilitate the provision of equipment and assistive technology
  • Complete assessments for major and minor adaptations
  • Develop and implement rehabilitation and reablement programmes
  • Work collaboratively with service users, families, carers, housing providers, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Promote strengths‐based and person‐centred practice
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with professional standards and local authority requirements
  • Support safeguarding and risk management processes where appropriate

About You

We are looking for a motivated Occupational Therapist who is passionate about enabling people to live independently and achieve positive outcomes.

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Experience working within Adult Social Care, community services, rehabilitation, or reablement settings
  • Knowledge of equipment provision and housing adaptations
  • Strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills
  • Excellent communication and partnership‐working abilities
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable, depending on locality)
