We are currently recruiting for a Band 6 Locum Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist setting in South London. This is a fantastic opportunity for an SLT with experience supporting individuals with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) who is looking for a rewarding role within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.
The Role
The successful candidate will work with children and young people with complex communication needs, delivering assessment, intervention, and support within a specialist PMLD setting. You will work closely with teaching staff, therapists, families, and other professionals to help maximise communication, participation, and quality of life for the individuals you support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a specialist caseload within a PMLD setting
- Assess and support a range of complex communication needs
- Develop and implement individualised communication strategies and interventions
- Work collaboratively with education and healthcare professionals
- Provide advice, training, and support to staff and families
- Maintain accurate clinical records and reports
Essential Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Speech and Language Therapy
- Current HCPC registration
- Experience working with individuals with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary working skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a specialist caseload
