Experienced Learning Disability Skills practitioner, with background in delivering training sessions to small groups of adults required. This is a permanent, part-time post based at our Newcastle Hub. Sessions are delivered both on site and in the wider community.
The sessions are designed to teach independent living and employment skills, health & wellbeing management to adults with intellectual (learning) disability and are ASDAN accredited. These are adults with conditions from birth impacting cognitive development with high associated sensory and physical co-morbidity. Conditions such as Down's, Prader-Willi cerebral palsy, Sotos and Williams Syndromes.
Experience
- Experience teaching or training small groups of adults with additional needs within community (not home-based) settings.
- Experience delivering travel training sessions.
- Experience of planning and delivering differentiation, and strong understanding of Easy Read format
Qualifications
- Qualifications: training, coaching or teaching qualification (upper secondary, FE/Adult Ed)
- Enhanced DBS with full barring check for Adult Services: on the update service
- Recent Safeguarding Adults Level 1 or 2 training
