Job Summary
We are seeking a Manufacturing Inspector to oversee and ensure product quality. This role involves identifying defects, enhancing productivity, reducing defect rates, and minimising re-work and waste.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Product inspection and quality improvement activities.
- Refine inspection processes.
- Carry out audits and inspections of subcontracted manufactured items.
- Look at quality control, inspection, testing, and verification of components and assemblies.
- Look after the system, process, and product performance, making recommendations for improvements.
Key Skills/Experience
Essential:
- Understanding of ISO 9001.
- Experience in a mechanical/inspection environment of quality control and assurance principles, quality improvement tools, metrology, and inspection techniques.
- Reading engineering drawings and understanding geometrical tolerancing.
- Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable:
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience in Dimensional checking within a Heavy engineering environment.
- Qualifications in MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection) and UT (Ultrasonic Testing).
- Experience and knowledge of associated testing/inspection requirements with material handling projects.
