We’re working with a fast-growing, established MEP consultancy that’s looking to appoint a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to play a key role in the delivery and growth of the business.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys owning projects end to end, leading mechanical design, and being closely involved in client delivery, team development, and the wider success of a consultancy environment.
The role
You’ll act as a project lead on a range of residential and public-sector projects, taking responsibility for mechanical design delivery while working closely with electrical colleagues and junior engineers.
Key elements of the role include:
- Leading full mechanical design, from calculations through to coordinated delivery
- Managing and coordinating mechanical input across multiple projects
- Working closely with electrical teams to ensure fully integrated MEP solutions
- Attending and contributing to client and design team meetings
- Mentoring and developing junior and intermediate engineers
- Supporting project delivery, programme management, and commercial performance
- Exposure to client account management and business development activities (where of interest)
About you
You’ll be a strong fit if you:
- Have 6–7+ years’ experience within a UK building services consultancy
- Are confident leading mechanical design and managing multiple projects
- Have experience producing calculations for heating, cooling, ventilation, and domestic services
- Are comfortable in a client-facing role
- Enjoy working collaboratively and supporting the development of others
- Have good knowledge of UK building regulations, CIBSE guidance, and industry standards
- Are a CIBSE member (or working towards accreditation)
Experience with AutoCAD and industry-standard design software is expected.
