Connected Search Group are proud to be leading an exclusive search for a CFO to join a PE backed business based in Sheffield. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a pivotal role in driving the financial strategy, operational efficiency, and overall business performance. This role will lead the development and execution of financial planning, reporting, and risk management, while also overseeing key operational initiatives.
In partnership with the senior leadership team, the CFO will ensure alignment between financial goals and strategic business objectives, optimise resources, mitigate risks, and drive sustainable growth. The role combines financial stewardship with operational leadership to maximise performance and ensure the company’s continued success.
- Financial Strategy & Planning: Develop and lead financial strategy aligned with business goals. Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation. Partner with senior leadership to assess financial performance and identify opportunities.
- Financial Reporting & Governance: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Lead preparation and communication of financial statements. Provide financial analysis for decision-making and growth. Implement risk management strategies and oversee internal controls. Ensure compliance with regulations and manage external audits.
- Collaborate with Business Units on strategic initiatives. Manage financial aspects of organisational change and transformation. Provide financial insights to CEO and investors. Collaborate with senior leadership on growth opportunities. Manage relationships with investors, auditors, and financial institutions. Lead fundraising activities and M&A opportunities. Evaluate investment opportunities and manage capital allocation.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and professional development. Oversee recruitment, training, and development of talent.
Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualification. Experience in senior finance roles, preferably as a CFO in a private equity-backed environment. Experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Track record in systems implementations and updates. Proficient in developing and monitoring KPIs. Experience in cost management, financial modelling, and value creation. Experience managing financial operations in overseas markets. Experience in M&A, fundraising, or capital raising. Strategic thinking to connect financial insights with business strategies. Commitment to ethical decision-making and financial transparency. Experience managing financials during transformation or scaling.
