The Role

We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Marketing Lead – Digital Marketing to join our Marketing & Communications team. This is a highly practical digital marketing role with responsibility for the day-to-day delivery and optimisation of CPC's email marketing, HubSpot automation, website, organic social media, paid digital campaigns and digital performance reporting.

Working closely with the Senior Marketing Manager – Digital, Audiences and Data, you will turn organisational and campaign priorities into effective digital activity, ensuring campaigns are delivered accurately, on time and to the right audiences. This is a hands-on delivery role to grow and engage audience across the target segments and markets by promoting our funding opportunities, events, videos, reports, projects and other content. You will build and schedule emails, create HubSpot workflows and campaign reports, create webpages, be responsible for social content, set up and optimise paid LinkedIn campaigns, and analyse performance using HubSpot and GA4.

As part of the marketing team, you will be responsible for delivering strategies and plans that build brand awareness, increase engagement, and ultimately lead to commercial opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and optimise Connected Places Catapult’s digital marketing activity across email, website, organic social media and paid campaigns.
  • Support the delivery of email campaigns in HubSpot, including audience setup and segmentation, email building, testing, scheduling, personalisation and quality assurance.
  • Manage the organisation-wide email marketing schedule, coordinating campaigns and audience communications.
  • Create, edit and publish website content, landing pages, forms, events, opportunities and campaign pages, applying SEO and accessibility best practice.
  • Manage organic social media channels, including content planning, scheduling, publishing and performance optimisation.
  • Set up, manage and optimise paid LinkedIn campaigns, including audiences, budgets, creative testing and conversion tracking.
  • Set up and maintain HubSpot campaigns, ensuring digital assets and activity are correctly tracked.
  • Monitor and report on audience growth, engagement, conversions, campaign performance and other key marketing KPIs.
  • Use HubSpot, GA4 and social and paid media analytics to monitor performance and turn data into actionable recommendations.
  • Work closely with Marketing & Communications colleagues and internal stakeholders to translate campaign objectives into effective digital activity.
  • Manage multiple campaigns and deadlines simultaneously, ensuring activity is delivered accurately, on time and to a high standard.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential experience and skills

  • This role requires someone who can come in and deliver from day one. You will be a confident digital marketer who is equally comfortable building activity yourself and advising colleagues on the best digital approach.
  • Strong hands-on experience delivering multi-channel digital marketing campaigns.
  • Confident and experienced HubSpot Marketing Hub user.
  • Strong understanding of audience segmentation, lists and CRM-based targeting.
  • Experience setting up and managing HubSpot campaigns and building campaign performance reports and dashboards.
  • Confidence managing and growing social channels, particularly LinkedIn.
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly when managing email campaigns and digital publishing.
  • Creative thinker – with the ability to craft engaging, catchy and intelligent copy that appeals to the right audience at the right time.
  • Excellent planning, project management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines.
  • Demonstrable experience running paid and organic social media campaigns that result in increased engagement, conversion rates and website traffic.
  • Demonstrable experience implementing digital marketing tactics that result in improved website rankings, website metrics and UX.
  • Demonstrable experience building and deploying email marketing techniques that result in higher open and click through rates.
  • An aptitude for data segmentation, analysis and reporting.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills with a collaborative, helpful and supportive attitude.
  • Be open to new ways of thinking and operating – with an appetite for growing your skills.
  • A willingness to get stuck in and help in other areas of the team when needed.
  • Confidence working with stakeholders across different teams and levels of seniority.
  • Hands-on experience in WordPress, Hubspot, GA4, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, YouTube, Microsoft Dynamics (or similar CRM/ERP system).

Desirable

  • Experience working in transport, technology, and/or built environment industries or public-sector environment.
  • Experience working on issues such as climate change, regional inequality, technology.
  • Experience with account-based or highly targeted B2B marketing campaigns.
  • Working knowledge of SEO and digital accessibility best practice.
  • Experience managing freelancers or agencies.
