The Role

Connected Places Catapult are looking for a new team member to support the Digital Construction International Programme. This is a flagship 3-year programme with the Department of Business and Trade. The programme is designed to address market failures that currently limit the global adoption of digital construction and constrain UK export potential. At its core, the programme converts the UK’s standards into long‑term export growth by reshaping overseas procurement systems, so they favour UK capability.

The Consultant will play a central role in designing and activating the Digital Construction Exports Group (DCEG) ecosystem, helping UK firms become better prepared, better connected and better positioned to win work in priority international markets. The role will focus on building relationships with UK exporters, including consultancy firms, supply chain organisations and SMEs, to strengthen collaboration, improve the visibility of UK capability and reduce barriers to export through ecosystem services and engagement activities. The Consultant will also support the design and delivery of country-specific export programmes, ensuring they generate measurable outcomes such as supplier engagement, new partnerships and improved market access.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing the Digital Construction Exports Group ecosystem, including its strategy, operational model, and stakeholder engagement approach
  • Supporting the development and roll out of the Digital Construction Exports Group online platform, ensuring effective launch, onboarding and ongoing engagement
  • Delivering exporter-focused services and opportunities for the ecosystem, including events, market intelligence, and support materials for SMEs, Tier 1s and consultancy firms
  • Working on ongoing market intelligence and stakeholder engagement to ensure that UK suppliers feel supported and connected to the programme opportunities
  • Support the design of export acceleration programmes, including supplier cohorts, partnerships and delivery plans aligned to market opportunities
  • Ensuring strong impact and monitoring tasks are performed, to track performance, capture outcomes and drive continuous improvement

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Identify new methodologies or approaches.
  • Identify solutions beyond the tried and tested methods.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams and disciplines.
  • Influence effectively in projects and tasks.
  • Customer perspective is understood and applied.
  • Uses multi-channel communication to ensure clarity and connection on activities.
  • Able to plan and deliver on multiple activities.
  • Respond to and learns from change with ease.
  • Embed inclusive and sustainability practices in planning and delivery.

Benefits

  • 9 day fortnight for everyone, every other Friday.
  • 23.5 holiday entitlement for everyone, with pro-rata calculations for part-time employees, along with a Christmas shutdown period for additional days off.
  • Competitive pension, up to 10% company contribution to help you save for your future.
  • Two paid days of volunteering leave per year (pro-rata for part-time employees) to support charitable activities.
