My client is a well-established pharmaceutical manufacturer, seeking an Analytical Chemist to join their team on an 18-month contract. There is potential for this role to transition into a permanent position after this time dependent on the needs of the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate, or those with a little experience looking to develop their experience within a structured, quality-driven setting, with exposure to a variety of analytical techniques.

The Role

You will be responsible for carrying out routine and non-routine analytical testing on raw materials and products, and ensuring all work is conducted in line with GMP standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing analytical testing using techniques such as HPLC, UV, IR and other relevant instrumentation
  • Ensuring accurate documentation in line with GMP or equivalent standards
  • Supporting the investigation of out-of-spec results
  • Supporting validation activities
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring compliance with calibration schedules

About You

You will ideally have:

  • A degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline
  • Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment (e.g. GMP, GLP) with practical experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
