The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 £ per hour.
We are looking to recruit hardworking Leisure Attendants/Lifeguards to join the team at Aspire @ the Park. Successful applicants should hold an up-to-date National Pool Lifeguard Qualification or STA or be able to demonstrate their ability to achieve this as part of the recruitment process. In the event where the successful applicant does not hold an up-to-date National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, Wakefield Council will support the applicant in gaining this, however it must be obtained within the first 3 months of employment.
Qualifications
- You must be able to jump/dive into deep water.
- Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds.
- Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water.
- Tread water for 30 seconds.
- Surface dive to the floor of the pool.
- Climb out unaided without ladder/steps where the pool design permits.
This assessment will take place on the day of the interview prior to the NPLQ course. There are a number of vacant full-time lifeguarding positions available.
Responsibilities
The role requires someone who can ensure that the departmental services are provided to the highest standard with due recognition of clients’ and customers’ requirements in accordance with the Council’s Customer Care and Equal Opportunities policies. It is essential that the successful candidate can work both individually and as part of a comprehensive team demonstrating excellent communication skills and the ability to use their own initiative.
