The Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and friendly person to join our lunchtime team to care for and supervise lunchtime activities for the children, to start as soon as possible.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare the extended services room prior to the arrival of the children, ensuring tables and work surfaces are hygienically clean.
  • Assist the children with their packed lunches, promoting good table manners and independence.
  • Assist children with toileting and hand washing.
  • Be an effective team member, contributing to activities and planning.
  • Collect and take children to and from classes when required at the beginning and end of sessions.
  • Promote healthy eating.
  • Keep records of children’s basic details on data sheets paying particular attention to food allergies and medical issues.
  • Record accidents and incidents and report to the Head teacher.
  • Form positive relationships with parents.
  • Promote the ethos of the nursery.
  • Have an awareness of nursery policies and procedures in particular Health and Safety and Child Protection.
  • Attend relevant in-service training e.g. First Aid / Food Hygiene.
  • To carry out any other duties given by the Head teacher.

This position is paid whole time with retainer adjustments applied to periods of school closure. You will not be required to work during the school closure periods however your salary in these periods will be adjusted accordingly in line with the retainer regulations as specified in the National Joint Council (NJC) Green Book agreement.
