About Us

The Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub is our 'front door' to children's social care and receives all safeguarding referrals for children in Oxfordshire. With the help of our partner agencies, we quickly identify risks to vulnerable children and provide a safe and timely response to decide the most effective interventions.

About the Role

  • To undertake and/or facilitate decision-making as to the most appropriate response to a safeguarding concern for a child – i.e. strategy discussion or assessment by Children’s Social Care, Early Help, LCSS or signposting to another agency.
  • To assist the Team Manager in leading the operational management and strategic development of the MASH.
  • To assist the Team Manager in managing the performance of the MASH, ensuring that a safe, efficient and effective response is provided to children and families, including providing support and challenge to partner agencies as appropriate.
  • To ensure service is delivered in line with Oxfordshire’s principles and values of working with partners, children and families.
  • To contribute to the management of all allocated resources to ensure appropriate and effective delivery of identified outcomes for children and families.

About you

This is a key safeguarding role and therefore you need to be a qualified social worker with Social Work England registration and have relevant previous experience. The MASH is a busy, fast-paced environment, and so you need the ability to work under pressure in a busy duty and response environment. Previous experience in a MASH team is desirable but not essential.

Rewards and benefits

We are proud of our strong flexible working culture, including the opportunity for flexibility on working hours and the use of technology to support agile working. We offer some of the very best learning and development opportunities to support your ongoing development. We have a generous holiday allowance which rises as you remain in employment with us up to 32 days, as well as giving you the option to buy additional holiday. You will also have access to a Local Government Pension Scheme with employer contributions of up to 19.9% of your salary; a range of local and national retail discounts; and a host of enhanced family friendly policies including carers leave and paid time off for volunteering.

At Oxfordshire County Council we are proud of our diverse workforce. Everyone is accepted for who they are, regardless of age, disability, gender identity, marital status, race, faith or belief, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, or on maternity or family leave. As a Disability Confident employer, we guarantee an interview for disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria for the job. We also guarantee interviews to care leavers who have completed further education and who meet the essential criteria for the job. For those leaving care without any further education, we guarantee an interview for our apprenticeships.
