The Capital Programme team is responsible for the delivery of the Council's capital programme and supports the delivery of significant elements of the Council Plan. The team delivers capital investment on behalf of a broad range of internal and external customers through a diverse range of projects and programmes including differing asset types and significant variations in scale. This is a key post within the Capital Programme Team.
The role will support project managers to deliver the councils Carbon Management Strategy and may involve leading smaller projects on the ground in the Councils buildings from heating replacements to solar installations and other energy efficiency works.
Responsibilities- Support project managers on the development and implementation of a wide range of projects, including the retrofit of commercial buildings with fabric improvement measures, low carbon heating, energy efficient lighting and renewable energy systems.
- Ensure project management systems and procedures are followed for each project, including managing risk registers, communication plans, contract documents and project programmes.
- May involve leading smaller projects on the ground in Council buildings from heating replacements to solar installations and other energy efficiency works.
- Candidates could come from a variety of backgrounds and should be forward thinking and able to build relationships quickly to facilitate the delivery of projects.
- Candidates who can evidence an understanding of energy management software or delivery of practical decarbonisation solutions would be well suited to the role.
