You’ll lead a council-wide programme that reimagines services end‑to‑end, combines improved customer experience with lower cost, and empowers people to deliver. This is high‑profile, fast‑paced work, where momentum matters and delivery is non‑negotiable. You’ll provide corporate oversight of the transformation portfolio and bring thought leadership on insight and performance. You’ll build collective ownership across directorates — ending silos, unlocking natural synergies and getting things done.

You’ll put in place robust portfolio management, governance and benefits realisation; align programmes to the MTFS and Corporate Plan; and champion the data‑ and technology‑enabled changes that will simplify journeys, reduce failure demand and create capacity for what matters.

About you

You’ll be an outstanding programme leader with the credibility to influence at the most senior levels. You’ll have delivered complex change in large organisations, run multi‑million‑pound budgets and know how to turn strategy into disciplined delivery, at pace, with grip and with people with you. You’ll bring political nous and resilience to navigate complexity and competing priorities, alongside expertise in portfolio management, governance and benefits tracking.

You’ll be a skilled influencer who can build strong relationships across organisational boundaries, and you’ll be committed to culture change — embedding accountability, innovation and collaboration. Above all, you’ll champion data‑driven and technology‑enabled transformation that makes a tangible difference for residents.
