You can expect to be working on issues such as private landlord and HMO licensing, environmental health and licensing, alongside community safety. Together, your portfolio will be instrumental in making Redbridge a cleaner, safer and better place to live and work.

We’re looking for someone who can bring both tried and tested experience and fresh thinking to complex issues, which will always be amplified in a densely populated urban centre. Effective partnership working with community groups, the Police, local landlords and businesses will be vital. You should be prepared to be accountable for outcomes, with an excellent handle on your brief, and confident in responding to challenge.

A highly developed appreciation of the political attention that comes with high profile issues will be essential to success. It's likely that you will have a professional background in regulated services, but it will be leadership skills, political acumen and the capacity to see the interdependencies across multiple service areas that will set you apart as a strong candidate.
