We are looking for Estate Caretakers. The Estate Services Division is responsible for providing Caretaking and Cleaning to tenants and leaseholders within flatted estates in the Borough of Sandwell.
To undertake a variety of tasks contributing to the safety and appearance of the environment within and around Housing Estates, in particular high and low-rise blocks of flats.
Responsibilities
- Duties will include routine and periodic cleansing to areas within and around the block, weed control, litter picking, removal of bulky items and hazardous waste (e.g. sharps) from communal areas, fire safety and environmental inspections, reporting of communal repairs, minor handy person style repairs, removal of graffiti within and around the block, cleansing of bin rooms/areas and receptacles.
You will be expected to demonstrate:
- Previous caretaking experience including carrying out minor repairs, Fire Safety checks, etc.
- That you are prepared to work outside office hours, which will include contractual weekends and bank holidays.
- An ability to drive a variety of company vehicles.
- A willingness and ability to travel to various locations within the Borough.
Requirements
- A full driving licence to drive vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.
- The ability to be able to read, write and understand written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to compose sentences and undertake simple arithmetic calculations.
