The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
We are seeking an experienced legal professional to provide advice and support on a range of corporate and governance matters. You will work on strategic projects, handle code of conduct complaints, advise on LGO issues, and support information governance as required. You will also review and comment on ODRs, Cabinet, Council, and Committee reports, as well as attend Council Committees and working groups as required, contributing to effective decision-making and governance.
Who we are looking for
To thrive in our Legal Team, you will bring solid experience in local government law and governance. You will have:
- Experience in providing legal advice on local government law, constitutional matters, decision-making processes, and preparing reports for Council, the Executive, committees, and officer decisions.
- Knowledge of governance issues for strategic projects, Members’ Standards matters (including Code of Conduct for Members complaints), and Local Government Ombudsman matters and complaints.
- Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
You will be a collaborative team player who stays calm under pressure and consistently meets deadlines. With strong problem-solving skills, you will support colleagues and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. Confidence in using IT systems and electronic resources for legal research is essential to succeed in this role.
