The City of Doncaster Council is a confident, ambitious organisation which puts improving the life of its residents at the centre of everything we do. You have an opportunity to be part of this in the role of Facilities Property Technician. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Council’s Facilities Management Team and contribute to the provision of a high quality facilities service for a portfolio of buildings, to meet the needs of the service and customers.

The post holder will be part of a property technician’s team, working at various sites, having a work base currently at the Civic Office dependent on service needs. The post is permanent, full time (37 hours) over 5 days, with a requirement to work additional hours, which may include evenings and weekends.

The role involves maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for all building users. You will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking statutory testing/inspections and reporting results to line manager
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Non-specialist repairs
  • Furniture erection and moves
  • Minor decorative works
  • Ground maintenance at premises as required

There will be a requirement to maintain statutory records relevant to all health and safety matters including fire safety, electricity and water, supporting the Senior Technician as required. There are opportunities for further personal development.

The right candidate will have experience of working in a customer facing environment and handling difficult situations. Knowledge of the health and safety issues relating to facilities management is required. A technical background is essential as is an understanding of facilities management operations. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines and prioritise work are essential. The post holder must have the ability to undertake manual handling and possess a full driving licence.
