As part of the UKβs Resource and Waste Strategy 2018, the ambition was set to hit 65% municipal recycling by 2035. To aid this, in 2023 the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) introduced Simpler Recycling with the aim of removing confusion around what can and cannot be recycled. As it stands today, Ashfield District Council (ADC) is at 41% waste recycled, with the potential to beat 65% by 2030. There are a number of transformational projects underway linked to this within the department. Along with this, it is the aim of the authority to develop opportunities and improve performance within its Environmental Services such as grass cutting, weed spraying, play areas, sport pitch bookings etc.
We are looking for an experienced forward-thinking individual who is enthusiastic about developing business opportunities and improving performance within Neighbourhood Services.
