As Junior HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for delivering on HR duties including end to end case work, report completion, implementing HR strategies, HR Projects, advising Line Managers on employee related queries and delivering HR related training across the business. You will also lead and deliver organisational change through identifying and driving the people agenda and the employee engagement agenda. Reporting to the HR Manager, the successful candidate will support the full employee life cycle and will be involved in all areas of the Human Resources function. The post holder will be expected to work as part of the wider HR team in the provision of a comprehensive HR service.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Experience as HR Administrator or similar role.
- Strong understanding of HR processes and basic ER principles.
- Comfortable holding low-level HR cases with supervision.
- Excellent organisation, documentation and follow-through skills.
- Confident communication and relationship-building ability.
- Ability to remain neutral and handle sensitive issues appropriately.
- Working towards CIPD Level 5.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Exposure to note-taking in HR meetings.
- Experience in health & social care or regulated environments.
- Knowledge of NI and/or ROI employment legislation.
- CIPD Level 5.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Low-Level Case Management: The Junior HRBP will hold and progress low-risk, routine cases, including but not limited to: Absence reviews, Performance concerns, Conduct issues, First-stage fact-finding, Early intervention meetings, Preparing case documents, letters, scripts and notes, Ensuring cases are closed out promptly and recorded accurately.
- HR Process and Guidance for Managers: Support managers to correctly follow Connected Health policies. Advise on process steps for low-level HR matters. Provide templates, scripts and guidance to ensure consistency. Redirect managers to HRBP for complex issues or matters outside remit. Follow HR processes for contract changes, iTrent management; leavers and associated reporting; long-term sick, welfare meetings and other processes as necessary.
- Attendance & Leave Administration (Policy Support): Support managers with absence management. Assist with maternity, flexible working and other leave processes. Ensure timely updates to iTrent.
- HR Reporting & Record Management: Maintain accurate logs of all ER cases. Participate in team meetings and provide summaries to Line Manager. Contribute to monthly HR metrics (absence, case volumes, early attrition). Ensure documentation is saved and audit-ready.
- Compliance & Policy Application: Promote consistent policy application across all regions. Support completion of audits, checks, documentation reviews. Identify and flag non-compliance early.
- Capability Building & Culture Support: Help managers prepare for low-level conversations. Promote We Care More values in interactions. Model professionalism, confidentiality and fairness.
