Connected Health is a £50m+ turnover group employing almost 2,000 people across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, and we are only getting started. Backed by growth investment with ambitions for further growth, both organic and through acquisition, we need a Chief Financial Officer who can turn scale into value.
This is not a scorekeeping role. This is the senior main Board position: with a seat at the Board table, as a member of our Senior Leadership Team and trusted partner to the CEO, Board and investors, you will own the full financial agenda:
- Financial Strategy & Performance: Set the financial direction and drive EBITDA, cash and margin through sharp KPIs.
- Finance Leadership & MI: Build a finance team and systems ready for scale, and improve the operating model, data and MI.
- Controls & Treasury: Robust controls, cash and working capital across the group.
- Growth & M&A: Lead the financial side of future acquisitions and shape our capital strategy as the group grows.
- Investors & Lenders: Be the financial voice to investors, banks and the Board.
- Dual Jurisdiction: Lead group reporting, tax and compliance across NI and ROI.
Your Responsibilities:
- Set and lead Connected Health's group financial strategy, aligned to our growth ambitions and investor value creation plan.
- Act as the trusted financial adviser to the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and Board, bringing clarity, challenge and insight to every major decision.
- Own long-term financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and scenario modelling, setting clear EBITDA, margin and cash targets for the group.
- Drive profitable growth through rigorous pricing, contract profitability analysis and workforce cost management across every service line.
- Lead KPI-driven performance management: interpreting the numbers, identifying what's driving them and giving leaders across the business clear, practical solutions.
- Take our finance operating model, data quality and management information to the next level, making sure the business has accurate, timely and insightful MI that drives decisions.
- Be a visible, hands-on leader, working closely with and supporting the Financial Controller, and getting into the detail when the business needs it.
- Lead, develop and scale a high-performing finance and payroll team across both jurisdictions, building capability for a significantly larger group.
- Modernise our finance systems (ERP, automation, business intelligence and rostering-to-payroll data integrity) to deliver faster, sharper insight.
- Champion financial literacy and commercial accountability among leaders across the business, in line with our KIND values.
- Embed a strong governance, risk and internal controls framework that protects the group's assets and stands up to investor and audit scrutiny.
- Lead treasury, cash and working capital management, including debtor performance across public sector commissioners.
- Oversee insurance, financial risk and business continuity planning across a large, multi-site workforce.
- Drive the group's growth ambitions by leading the financial evaluation of future acquisition opportunities, including valuation, modelling, financial due diligence and deal structuring.
- Lead finance integration of any acquired businesses, including systems, reporting, controls and synergy delivery.
- Shape and optimise the group's capital structure, including debt facilities, equity, refinancing and positioning for future investment rounds or liquidity events.
This is not an exhaustive list.
Who We're Looking For:
- Essential: Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Proven track record as CFO or Finance Director of a multi-entity business with a minimum turnover of £25m.
- Highly commercial and KPI-driven, able to interpret performance and give leaders clear, actionable solutions, not just accurate numbers.
- Experience leading and scaling finance teams in a high growth, multi-site environment, including improving the operating model, data quality and MI.
- A hands-on, practical leader who combines strategic thinking with getting into the detail.
- Exposure to M&A, including financial due diligence, deal structuring and integration.
- Experience working in a private equity or institutional investor-backed business, including investor reporting and delivery against a value creation plan.
- Credible, confident presence with the Board, investors, lenders and other external stakeholders.
- Dual-jurisdiction experience across the UK and Republic of Ireland, including consolidation, tax and statutory reporting in sterling and euro.
Desirable:
- Experience in health and social care, or another labour intensive, regulated sector.
- Knowledge of HSC Trust and HSE commissioning and funding models.
- Experience of a transaction event, such as an investment round, refinancing, secondary buyout or exit.
- Leadership of a finance systems or ERP transformation.
- Postgraduate qualification such as an MBA or Corporate.
