Are you a seasoned manufacturing engineering professional ready to take ownership of a high-impact, multi-disciplinary function? We\’re supporting a leading manufacturer in recruiting a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to head up their engineering operations and play a key role in driving performance, reliability, and innovation across the site.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands-on leadership role—optimising equipment, improving processes, and enabling new product development within a fast-moving production environment.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and technicians across maintenance, process engineering, and product engineering.
  • Set clear objectives, manage performance, and promote a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities to align engineering output with wider production goals and business strategy.

Maintenance

  • Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programmes to maximise equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on equipment issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with all safety and regulatory standards.

Process Engineering

  • Optimise manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost control.
  • Introduce Lean and Six Sigma tools to reduce waste and boost throughput.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives across the facility.

Product Engineering

  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and ensure smooth transition from design to manufacture.
  • Work closely with Design and R&D teams on manufacturability and scalability.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for processes, tooling, and equipment.

Continuous Improvement & Strategy

  • Deliver productivity enhancements, downtime reduction and quality improvements.
  • Analyse production data, identify trends, and implement strategic corrective plans.
  • Contribute to long-term engineering and capital investment strategy.

Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure compliance with ISO, health & safety, and environmental standards.
  • Maintain robust documentation for audits and regulatory requirements.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • 7+ years’ experience in manufacturing engineering with proven leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance systems, process optimisation, and product lifecycle management.
  • Skilled in Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
