Are you a Quality Engineer with a strong project background? Are you eligible for SC Clearance? We are working with a private equity backed business within the engineering space based in Sheffield, who are looking for a Project Quality Engineer to work on a key project. This business is responsible for some of the most recognisable engineering solutions in the country with a strong project pipeline. Working with clients in Stadia and Arenas, Nuclear, MOD and Sports, their work is varied and extensive.

This is a well-rounded, customer facing position. Working with key stakeholders both internally and externally, you will be the go-to engineer for quality and be responsible for driving success within this project. It is important to note that the project in question is in Scotland, so the successful candidate must be comfortable travelling and staying overnight on a semi-regular basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Planning & Strategy
    • Develop and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP)
    • Ensure alignment with customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements
  • Process & Design Control
    • Review project designs, specifications, and changes for quality impact
    • Support design reviews, validation, and verification activities
    • Evaluate and approve suppliers from a quality perspective
    • Conduct supplier audits and quality reviews
    • Manage supplier non-conformances and corrective actions
  • Inspection, Testing & Audits
    • Define inspection and test plans (ITPs)
    • Ensure inspections, testing, and validation activities are executed correctly
  • Non-Conformance & Corrective Action
    • Lead non-conformance management
    • Perform root cause analysis (e.g. 5 Whys, Fishbone)
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Maintain quality records, reports, and traceability
    • Ensure document control and compliance
  • Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Act as the quality interface between engineering, project management, operations, and customers

Candidates must be eligible for SC Clearance (including being a permanent resident of the UK for at least the past 5 years). Travel to the project site near Glasgow will be required. Regularity will be based on project demand (estimated 80% Sheffield, 20% Scotland). This will include overnight stays. This is a role with excellent scope for progression. The project in question spans more than two years at least and with the strength and quality of the project pipeline, there will be extensive opportunities in the future.
