C

This is an opportunity to join a business that continues to invest in its people, processes and capability, working on genuinely varied, high-profile engineering projects rather than routine, repeat-pattern work.

Connected Engineering is proud to be partnering exclusively with a well-established UK engineering business, recognised for its innovation, precision and delivery on complex mechanical handling and kinetic architecture projects. Our client delivers world-class work across Defence, Aerospace, Nuclear, Sports & Entertainment and Infrastructure, and continued growth means they're now looking to strengthen their delivery team with an experienced Project Engineer based in Sheffield.

The Role

Reporting into the project management team, you'll support the delivery of engineering projects to time, budget and specification, coordinating resources, managing suppliers and overseeing execution from planning through to completion on site.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting the initiation of new projects and defining resource requirements
  • Helping develop project programmes and managing supply chain deliverables
  • Flagging risks and issues to the Project Manager as they arise
  • Interpreting job specifications and tender scope, and proactively monitoring costs and budgets
  • Managing procurement and supplier selection in line with budget and quality standards
  • Liaising with the design team to ensure drawings meet specification
  • Tracking and costing job variations through to client sign-off
  • Ensuring compliance with SHEQ regulations and organising site surveys, subcontractors, plant and equipment
  • Attending client meetings, tracking actions, and overseeing site QA and sign-off of works and invoices
  • Compiling and issuing H&S documentation, and resolving risks as they're identified

What we’re looking for

  • Experience gained in industrial, Nuclear, Defence or Oil & Gas environments preferred
  • Solid working knowledge of engineering standards
  • The confidence to contribute to and influence engineering design decisions, balancing deliverability, risk and value

What’s on offer

  • Flexible start and finish times around core working hours
  • Salary sacrifice pension scheme
  • 25 days' annual leave plus statutory bank holidays
