Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret customer specifications and define control system safety requirements
- Design and integrate safety-critical systems into wider project frameworks
- Produce and maintain BoD, FDS, SDS, and reliability reports
- Conduct risk assessments, SIL/PL calculations, and design verifications
- Lead internal and client design reviews, FATs, and SATs
- Mentor engineers and deliver internal training on functional safety
- Manage subcontractors and support commissioning activities
- Ensure compliance with QA, H&S, and CDM regulations
Essential Requirements:
- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- Experience with BS EN 61508, 62061, and ISO 13849-1
- Proficient in SISTEMA, Amtech, and VSDs
- PLC/HMI programming (e.g. Siemens, Rockwell)
- Electrical schematic design (EPLAN preferred)
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- TÜV Functional Safety certification
- Experience with OHETCs and safety instrumentation
- Familiarity with laser positioning, encoders, and safe access systems
