  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret customer specifications and define control system safety requirements
  • Design and integrate safety-critical systems into wider project frameworks
  • Produce and maintain BoD, FDS, SDS, and reliability reports
  • Conduct risk assessments, SIL/PL calculations, and design verifications
  • Lead internal and client design reviews, FATs, and SATs
  • Mentor engineers and deliver internal training on functional safety
  • Manage subcontractors and support commissioning activities
  • Ensure compliance with QA, H&S, and CDM regulations

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Experience with BS EN 61508, 62061, and ISO 13849-1
  • Proficient in SISTEMA, Amtech, and VSDs
  • PLC/HMI programming (e.g. Siemens, Rockwell)
  • Electrical schematic design (EPLAN preferred)
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • TÜV Functional Safety certification
  • Experience with OHETCs and safety instrumentation
  • Familiarity with laser positioning, encoders, and safe access systems
