I'm working on behalf of a scaling business that provides smart water solutions, and they require an experienced Commercial Contracts Manager to work within a high-performing commercial team.

The role will involve providing additional commercial and contractual expertise across a portfolio of strategically important agreements.

Focusing on drafting, negotiating and closing complex commercial agreements, whilst ensuring risks are understood, managed and communicated effectively.

You'll be working closely with commercial, legal, finance, operational and project stakeholders, taking ownership of key contractual workstreams and helping drive agreements through to completion.

  • What you'll be doing
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex customer, supplier and subcontractor agreements.
  • Interpreting prime contract obligations and translating these into robust supplier flow-down provisions.
  • Managing multiple concurrent contract negotiations and keeping momentum through to execution.
  • Coordinating input from legal, finance, operational and commercial stakeholders.
  • Identifying commercial, contractual and delivery risks and recommending practical mitigation strategies.
  • Supporting governance, approvals and contract execution processes.
  • Building strong working relationships with customers, suppliers and subcontractors.

What we're looking for

This role requires significant experience in commercial contract management, alongside the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly.

  • Extensive experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of supplier agreements, subcontractor agreements and contractual flow-down mechanisms.
  • The ability to understand and balance commercial opportunity with contractual risk.
  • Experience taking agreements from initial drafting through negotiation, approval and execution.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the confidence to engage at senior levels.
  • Experience within utilities, smart metering, energy networks.
