Position Overview
The role supports the delivery of wireless infrastructure projects by providing structural calculations, design documentation, and technical guidance to ensure installations meet industry, client, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Produce structural designs, calculations, and assessments for telecoms sites including towers, rooftops, poles, and temporary works.
- Review site survey data and interpret structural requirements for upgrades, new builds, and decommissioning works.
- Provide structural input into site design packs, ensuring compliance with client specifications and relevant standards.
- Act as the responsible engineer for UK structural sign-off, ensuring all designs meet British Standards, Eurocodes, and client requirements.
- Work closely with internal design teams, build managers, rigging teams, and external contractors to support safe and efficient delivery.
- Collaborate daily with our team of 17 internal Structural Engineers based in Málaga to coordinate workloads, share technical expertise, and ensure consistent design quality across all projects.
- Conduct structural risk assessments and advise on mitigation measures.
- Update company and client systems with structural documentation, reports, and approvals.
- Review contractor proposals, method statements, and installation techniques to ensure structural integrity is maintained.
- Support tendering activities by providing structural scope, design requirements, and technical clarifications.
- Assist with structural elements of handover documentation, ensuring all evidence is complete and compliant.
- Ensure all structural work adheres to industry regulations, British Standards, Eurocodes, and client-specific requirements.
- Provide technical support during construction, addressing structural queries and resolving issues promptly.
- Carry out quality assurance checks on structural deliverables and implement corrective actions where required.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Structural Engineer within the telecoms industry or a closely related infrastructure sector.
- Strong understanding of telecoms structures including lattice towers, monopoles, rooftops, grillages, and small-cell installations.
- Proficient in structural analysis software and calculation tools.
- Good understanding of rigging loads, wind loading, and equipment loading for 4G/5G deployments.
- Familiarity with telecoms design processes, build permitting, and H&S compliance.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, surveys, and structural inspection reports.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, build, and field teams.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple design tasks across different regions.
- Experience producing clear, accurate, and compliant structural documentation.
Qualifications
- Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- Chartered or working toward chartership (ICE, IStructE) is highly desirable.
- Training in rooftop access, RF awareness, and working at height is beneficial.
- Valid Health & Safety certifications (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely, SMSTS) are advantageous.
- Proficiency with structural design software (e.g., Robot, Tower analysis tools) is desirable.
