Decontamination Assistant Connect2Swindon are recruiting a Decontamination Assistant to support our client! This is a Temporary role, with the opportunity to become perm for the right individual! The Role To safely clean, decontaminate, and prepare returned equipment for reuse, ensuring all infection control standards are met. The role supports a reliable and sustainable supply of equipment for health and social care services, contributing to service user safety and effective service delivery Key responsibilities and accountability's: Equipment Cleaning & Preparation * Dismantle returned equipment for inspection and pre-cleaning assessment in line with established procedures * Clean and decontaminate equipment to required infection control standards * Operate industrial washers and mechanical cleaning equipment safely and effectively * Select appropriate cleaning methods for a range of items, including regulated medical devices (e.g. suction units) * Reassemble equipment following cleaning and prepare for further processing or storage * Identify and escalate any faults, damage, or concerns to the Decontamination Lead Repairs, Maintenance & Quality control * Carry out minor repairs (e.g. replacing pads, bolts, and basic components) in line with training and guidance * Identify items requiring specialist repair or deemed beyond economic repair and escalate appropriately * Complete all required documentation, including quality control and reconditioning records * Conduct quality checks to ensure equipment is safe, functional, and fit for reuse * Support processes for the safe disposal or condemnation of equipment Health and Safety * Comply with all Health & Safety policies, including COSH, manual handling, and infection control procedures * Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment at all times * Use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately * Participate in mandatory training to ensure compliance and safe working practices Stock Handling and Operational Support * Receive, process, and store returned equipment in line with service procedures * Accurately record equipment details, including bar-codes and tracking information * Support stock rotation, storage, and availability to meet service demand * Assist with general warehouse duties, including cleaning designated areas and maintaining order Communication & Teamwork * Work collaboratively with team members to meet service standards and operational targets * Communicate effectively with colleagues, therapists, and members of the public * Provide a professional and courteous service when handling returned equipment * Contribute to a positive, safe, and high-performing team environment Commercial Services Trading Ltd is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy
