We are seeking a qualified Educational Psychologist to join our team and support children and young people in achieving their educational, social, emotional, and developmental potential. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with schools, families, local authorities, and other professionals to assess needs, provide evidence-based interventions, and contribute to positive outcomes for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychological assessments of children and young people experiencing learning, behavioural, emotional, or developmental difficulties.
- Prepare high-quality psychological reports and recommendations.
- Support Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments (EHCNAs) and contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Provide consultation, advice, and training to schools, families, and multi-agency professionals.
- Develop and implement evidence-based interventions to support learning, wellbeing, and inclusion.
- Support schools in promoting positive behaviour, mental health, and emotional wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, social workers, health professionals, and local authority staff.
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and research projects.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with professional, ethical, and statutory requirements.
- Stay informed of developments in educational psychology and relevant legislation.
Essential Requirements
- Doctorate in Educational Psychology or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Eligibility for membership of the British Psychological Society.
- Experience conducting psychological assessments and producing detailed reports.
- Knowledge of SEND legislation, EHCP processes, and safeguarding requirements.
- Excellent communication, consultation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to promoting inclusion and positive outcomes for children and young people.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience working within a local authority educational psychology service.
- Knowledge of neurodevelopmental conditions, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
- Experience delivering training and workshops to schools and professionals.
- Experience supporting children with complex needs and vulnerable groups.
