The LD&A Social Worker will work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team to provide high‑quality social work support to individuals with learning disabilities and autism. This role involves assessing the needs of service users, ensuring their care and support are well‑coordinated, and advocating for their rights and choices, all while adhering to relevant legislation and best practice guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- In‑depth knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and other relevant legislation.
- Understanding of person‑centred approaches and how to implement them in practice.
- Knowledge of safeguarding principles and procedures.
Essential Criteria
- Qualification: Recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., BA or MA in Social Work). SWE Registration.
- Experience: Experience working with adults with mental health issues, ideally in a community or clinical setting.
- Skills: Excellent communication, assessment, and case management skills.
- Personal qualities: Compassionate, resilient, and committed to working with vulnerable individuals. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Car Driver: A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is required for this role.
