Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) from issuance through annual review to plan cessation.
  • Work with families of children with Special Needs and Disability in a person‑centred approach, coordinating service provision across education, health and care.
  • Collaborate with families, schools and key partner agencies to ensure children and young people with SEND receive appropriate provision aligned with their holistic needs.
  • Facilitate engagement with educational settings and practitioners, supporting, advising and monitoring the local offer and working with schools on individual cases as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educated to A level minimum or equivalent training/experience in SEN knowledge, Code of Practice and Children and Families Act 14.
  • Good knowledge of Surrey's SEND policy, national guidance, legislation and Surrey County Council’s Local Offer.
  • Understanding of educational settings across the 0‑25 age range and evidence‑based effective intervention.
  • Experience writing and maintaining EHCPs and presenting to partnership resource allocation forums.
  • Demonstrated collaborative work with children/young people, parents and vulnerable children, particularly those with SEND.
  • Role requires valid DBS check.
