Job Description:

  • Screens and triages contacts to determine if thresholds for statutory social work intervention or significant harm are met.
  • Completes holistic assessments of families, identifying strengths, needs, and risks, and develops SMART plans to improve outcomes.
  • Works collaboratively with multi-agency partners, leading CIN and core group meetings to monitor and review progress.
  • Undertakes child protection investigations and contributes to strategy discussions where significant harm is suspected.
  • Initiates legal action (including S20 and care proceedings) where risks cannot be managed within the family environment.
  • Maintains accurate case records and ensures effective care planning, court work, and placement coordination to promote stability and positive outcomes for children.
