Senior Social Worker – Family Help Service London Borough of Hackney Temporary Role | Up to £39.04 per hour (Umbrella) Location: Hackney Connect2Socialwork is proudly working in partnership with the London Borough of Hackney to recruit experienced Senior Social Workers for its newly established Family Help Service. Hackney Children's Social Care is entering an exciting period of transformation, redesigning services to strengthen continuity, relationships and outcomes for children and families. As part of this change, the Assessment & Planning and Child Protection services have merged to form neighbourhood-based Family Help Teams across Hackney. About the Role As a Senior Social Worker within the Family Help Service, you will provide end-to-end, relationship-based social work, supporting families from allocation through to case closure. You will manage a varied and rewarding caseload, including: Children and Family Assessments Children in Need (CIN) planning and interventions Child Protection work Public Law Outline (PLO) and court proceedingsThis role offers the opportunity to embed systemic, trauma-informed and anti-racist practice throughout the child's journey and be part of shaping a new service model. Key Responsibilities You will play a central role in: Producing high-quality, analytical assessments and reports Managing risk and safeguarding children effectively Delivering purposeful interventions that lead to sustainable change Contributing to reflective practice and supporting less experienced colleagues Working closely with multi-agency partners to achieve positive outcomes for children and familiesWhat We're Looking For We are seeking confident, reflective Social Workers who are passionate about frontline practice and align with Hackney's values. You will have: A recognised Social Work qualification Registration with Social Work England At least 3 years' post-qualification experience within an English local authority Strong experience across CIN, Child Protection and Court work Excellent assessment, analytical and report-writing skills Experience of systemic practice with children and families The resilience and professional curiosity to thrive in a fast-paced environmentWhy Choose Hackney?
