Connect2Socialwork are currently recruiting on behalf of Luton Borough Council for an experienced Designated Social Care Officer (SEND) to join their Children, Families and Education Directorate. This is a senior, strategic role offering the opportunity to influence and shape SEND services, drive improvement, and deliver better outcomes for children and young people with disabilities across the borough.

About the Role

As a key member of the senior management team, you will lead on the development and delivery of social care practice within SEND, working collaboratively across education, health and wider partners.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic leadership across SEND services to improve outcomes
  • Strengthening multi-agency working with education, health, DfE and NHS partners
  • Driving service improvement, innovation and transformation
  • Supporting the delivery of early help and preventative approaches
  • Contributing to and influencing policy, practice and service development
  • Deputising for the Head of Service where required

About You

  • Strong post-qualifying experience within Children's Social Care / SEND
  • Proven experience at senior or management level
  • Ability to lead strategic change and service improvement
  • Strong partnership working and leadership skills
  • Passion for improving outcomes for children, young people and families
