Connect2Socialwork is recruiting an experienced Team Manager to lead a Children with Disabilities service based in Runcorn. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and values-led manager to support high-quality service delivery while leading and developing a team of Social Workers.
About the Role
As Team Manager, you will support the effective delivery of Children's Social Care within your defined service area. You will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership, supervision and development of Social Workers, ensuring services are delivered to a high standard, within statutory and legal frameworks. You will also contribute to the wider management, performance and continuous improvement of services, ensuring outcomes for children and families remain at the centre of practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the prioritisation and allocation of work across the team, identifying pressures and contributing to service planning and development
- Taking accountability for cases within the team's workload, reporting to the Principal Manager in line with policies and procedures
- Providing regular, reflective supervision and professional support, with a strong focus on staff wellbeing and development
- Ensuring high standards of recording, documentation, communication and compliance across the team
- Promoting effective partnership working with statutory, voluntary and independent agencies
- Supporting practice around safeguarding, care planning and statutory responsibilities
About You
To be considered for this role, you must be a qualified Social Worker with:
- Registration with Social Work England
- DipSW, CQSW or an equivalent recognised qualification
- Evidence of progression within children's or family services
In addition, you will bring:
- Strong experience in Child Protection, Care Planning and Statutory Reviews
- Sound knowledge of child development, child care law, safeguarding guidance and Leaving Care legislation
- Previous experience supervising staff and/or student Social Workers
- Proven ability to assess and manage risk, including creating, reviewing and implementing effective plans
- Experience of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working, including leading and contributing to professional meetings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly when working with children, young people and families
Requirements
- Social Work England registration
- Relevant post-qualifying experience
- Minimum 3 years' permanent experience
- Enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred)
- Right to work in the UK
