Role: Mini Bus Driver PTU

Contract: Ongoing Temp

Connect2Luton are excited to recruit a Driver / Passenger Assistant on behalf of Luton Borough Council within their Passenger Transport Unit department. You will be working with the general public and transporting up to 16 passengers at any one given time. You will need a D1 category on your driving licence. To be successful in this role you will need to have worked in a similar role previously.

About the Driver / Passenger Drivers:

  • Safely transport passengers to various locations across Luton
  • Create a safe, supportive atmosphere for passenger in line with safety guidelines
  • Ensure all safety checks are carried out in line with standard procedures
  • Check vehicles to ensure they are clean and fuelled appropriately
  • Report any incidents within the safety guidelines

About you

  • Proficient communicator in English
  • It is essential you hold a clean driving licence with category D1.
  • Experience of driving larger vehicles and understand basic maintenance - basic training will be provided
  • Confident with members of the general public
  • Be able to lift items such as wheelchairs and buggy equipment
  • For insurance purposes drivers must be over the age of 23

This position requires Enhanced DBS check.
