Connect2Luton are excited to recruit a Homelessness Project officer on behalf of Luton Borough Council.

Main purpose of position:

A 4-week project has arisen to support the development of a Single Homeless Pathway in Luton. The role will focus on verifying the needs of people living in supported accommodation, ensuring individuals are placed appropriately, and supporting system-wide flow through improved understanding of need.

You will be responsible to:

  • Work closely with supported accommodation providers to timetable visits and gain access to residents across the 4-week project period
  • Conduct curious conversation-based, light-touch assessments with identified cohorts within supported accommodation services
  • Apply a defined assessment framework to determine and record each individual's overall level of need
  • Where appropriate, refer individuals who are not suitably placed to: Adult Social Care, Hostel, PRS Move-On Team
  • Maintain accurate records to support analysis, system learning, and pathway development

Skills and Experience:

  • Single homelessness and supported accommodation services
  • The Homelessness Reduction Act 2017
  • Care and support needs under the Care Act 2014
  • Supporting individuals with multiple and intersecting needs (e.g. mental health, substance use, offending history)
  • Multi-agency and partnership working
