Connect2Luton are excited to recruit a Qualitative Analyst on behalf of Luton Borough Council.

Main Purpose

We are seeking analyst support for a discrete piece of work over 25 days.

The role will provide analytical, research and coordination capacity to support the creation of resident insight analysis.

The work will involve taking existing outputs and using established AI routines to create thematic insight.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyse resident survey responses, engagement outputs, data and documentation provided by the project team.
  • Contribute to the test and learn phase of a new approach to embed community insight into strategic decision making.
  • Identify key themes, issues, risks, gaps and opportunities.
  • Produce clear summaries, briefings, narrative slide content (to standard model), trackers or working notes as required.
  • Support preparation for meetings, workshops or stakeholder discussions.
  • Maintain action logs, issue logs or other project records where needed.
  • Work with the project team to refine outputs based on feedback.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, particularly in qualitative methods.
  • Ability to work quickly and pragmatically.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills, including the ability to convey potentially complex information to a range of audiences.
  • Good stakeholder engagement and meeting support skills.
  • Familiarity with AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) and their application to qualitative data analysis.
  • Ability to critically evaluate and quality‑assure AI‑generated themes and insights, recognising limitations, bias, and potential inaccuracies.
  • Confident use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • Experience producing concise briefings, summaries or management information.
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality, secure handling of resident data, and compliance with agreed data protection processes.
